Who is Lucie Klaassen
Lucie Klaassen is the author of a bestseller book “Wired 4 Connection”, a guide to understanding the nervous system for True Connection and optimal learning based on the Polyvagal Theory. Lucie is also a Squire in the Academic Art of Riding by Bent Branderup, a certified instructor in Straightness Training and Centered Riding and a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner (MMCP) and instructor.

Lucie combines all of this in her international Balanced Rider & Horse clinics and Body Awareness clinics for both riders and their horses, guiding everyone at their own level.

Participants with horses
The number of participants with a horse is 6 people. As a horse participant, you will have 3 lessons (see other info). You will of course also participate in the theory lessons and Body Awareness exercises and you can watch all other lessons. The level of the participants is not important, as long as you are open minded and willing to learn. Every horse and pony is welcome. Stallions and young or
unridden horses are welcome if the participant has the ability to safely handle the horse and the organizer has the facility to accommodate them. It is recommended that you bring a cavesson. You can also borrow one from the facility.

Participants without a horse
Everybody who is interested in connecting and working with horses from a place of trust, relaxation and communication is welcome to join the clinic. You will participate in the theory and Body Awareness exercises and you can watch all the lessons.

Because Lucie enjoys to really connect with all participants, the clinic has a maximum of total 20 people.

Program 3 day clinic
Day 1: Body Awareness (BA) for Riders & Polyvagal Principles
9.00- 9.30 Welcome, coffee/tea
9.30-12.00 Polyvagal Theory, how to work with your nervous system (incl break)
12.00-13.00 Lunch
13.00-16.00 Practical exercises to rewire your brain for relaxation and confidence.

How to become the human your horse wants to be with. Understanding the nervous system, relaxation, breathing, heart coherence including lots of practical exercises. This day is without horses.

Day 2: True Connection Groundwork
8.45- 9.00 Coffee/tea
9.00-12.00 Theory and exercises without the horse (incl break)
12.00-13.00 Lunch
13.00-16.00 Lessons in True Connection groundwork with horse (3 x 1 hour duo lessons)
16.00-17.00 Time for questions

Foundation groundwork. How to connect your horse to your breathing, the effect of your body posture on the horse and the various groundwork positions. Afternoon 1 hour duo lesson. This means there are 2 horses in the arena so they find comfort with each other and you have more time to practice.

Day 3: Prepare your horse for more advanced groundwork

9.00-10.30 Theory basic lateral movements (shoulder-in/haunches-in)
10.45-13.00 Lessons (3 x 40 minutes duo lessons)
13.00-14.00 Lunch
14.00-17.00 Lessons (6 x 30 minutes individual lessons)
17.00-17.30 Time for questions

On the 3rd day there are 2 lessons, 1 duo lesson and 1 private lesson. In the individual lesson you can focus on your own preferred subject in groundwork or in-hand work.

What to bring
– Comfortable clothing. Bring a (yoga)mat or blanket for day 1.
– Coffee/tea/snacks will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
– There will be a speaker system so everyone will be able to hear how Lucie guides the participants with the horse on day 2 and 3.
– Contact Betina for information on B&B or other accommodations nearby for participants who want to stay near the clinic area.
– If you bring a horse, you can contact Betina for stable/field option. The cost will be DKK 200 per day including hay – for all 3 days DKK 500,00 – due to be paid by arrival. Possible to arrive Thursday evening.

Full 3-day clinic
– DKK 4.125,00 with a horse, incl Body Awareness day and 3 lessons (only 6 spots). SOLD OUT
– DKK  2.950,00 without a horse ( -> normal price 3 x 1.125 DKK = 3.375 DKK)

Day Participant for Body Awareness (day 1) or participant without a horse (day 2 or 3)
– DKK 1.125 per day (Only if spots are available after April 1st. We normally are sold out by then…)
Note: Because of the intimate setting we prefer to have people attend all 3 days. Until April 1st it is only possible to get a 3-day ticket. If spots are still available after April 1st, it will be possible to attend just 1 day at DKK 1.125,00.

Participants with a horse only available for full 3 days. It is not possible to only attend day 2/3

You can secure your spot for this 3-day clinic by a deposit of DKK 1.500,00 – rest is due by April 1st
– Deposits are non refundable unless in case of true medical emergency.
– Should a participant need to withdraw she/he may find a replacement.

Note: You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
